What is Chat?

It is the replacement for internal WhatsApp: individual or group conversations, internal or with external people (clients, suppliers). Everything stays in Pilot, with search and traceability.

Screen tour

  • Left: the list of your conversations, sorted by recent activity.
  • Center: the active conversation.
  • Right: contact info (name, photo, organization, shared files).

Start a conversation

  • The + button at the top of the conversation list.
  • You choose: individual chat, group or external.
  • For individual / group: you select from the directory.
  • For external: you type the email; they receive an invitation with a link to reply.

Mention and reply

@name mentions and notifies. Right-click → Reply quotes the original message in your reply to make the context clear.

Turn a message into a task

If in a conversation someone says 'can you handle the report on Friday?', you right-click → Turn into task. The task is created with the message text and keeps a link to the original chat.

You want Karina to be able to message you through chat without having you on her personal WhatsApp.

  1. You create an external chat with karina@vetpatitas.cr.
  2. Karina receives an email with a link. She enters her external Pilot view (she does not need a paid account).
  3. She chats with you like on WhatsApp.
  4. She requests adjustments to the proposal. You turn her message into a task for Diego.
  5. Diego sees the task with the full context.

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace Slack or Teams?
It can, but it doesn't force you to. If your team is already comfortable with Slack or Teams, Pilot connects via webhooks and operates on top — customer messages (WhatsApp, email, webchat) land in Pilot and get notified to Slack/Teams. If you want to simplify and cut license costs, Pilot replaces both with an experience more tightly integrated with the CRM.
External customer messages too?
Yes. You connect your WhatsApp Business number (via Whapi or the Cloud API), Telegram, Instagram DM, or a webchat embedded on your site. All messages land in the same team inbox, assigned to the right owner and with the CRM customer identified.
How does the AI help me in the chat?
It summarizes long threads when you arrive (you open a group with 80 new messages and the AI gives you the gist in 3 points), suggests replies based on the customer's context (not just generic answers), and warns you when a customer has been waiting for a reply for more than N hours.
What about conversation privacy?
Internal conversations are private to the team. Customer conversations are visible to members with access to the channel/customer. Messages are NOT used to train models. You can enable automatic retention (deletion after 90/180/365 days) according to your internal policy.
