The problem
Modern ecommerce won on scale but lost on operational efficiency. A typical LATAM SMB online store ends up using 5-8 platforms: the store (Shopify/Woo), email marketing (Mailchimp), WhatsApp Business, the CRM, the ERP/billing, the site chatbot, Meta ads and a dashboard nobody checks.
The result: orders come in and nobody reviews them until the next day, abandoned carts with no recovery, customers writing on WhatsApp asking about stock and getting a reply on Monday, stockouts detected only when the customer complains. The store sells but the team feels like it's putting out fires all day.
The traditional answer was to automate pieces with separate tools. It worked up to a point, but each new tool is another silo, another subscription, another integration that breaks.
How Pilot solves it
AI ecommerce — done right — isn't 'more bots and more automation'. It's a single coordinated operation where the store, support, marketing and restocking talk to each other. The AI makes operational decisions that used to take hours: what to restock, who to send which offer, which cart to recover, how to answer the weekend customer.
Three principles to get it right
- Don't migrate your store. Pilot connects with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, VTEX and PrestaShop. Your commerce platform stays where you sell. Pilot operates on top with CRM, AI and multichannel.
- Catalog + support + payment in one place. The customer asks on WhatsApp, the AI shows the product with photo and price, sends a payment link, confirms when they pay. Without opening 4 windows.
- The AI runs the day-to-day, you run strategy. Suggested restocking, personalized offers, cart recovery, complaint escalation: AI. Catalog curation, new category decisions, positioning: human.
Step by step
- Connect your current store (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, VTEX, PrestaShop) to Pilot. The initial sync brings in the catalog, customers, historical orders and stock.
- Connect your WhatsApp Business and your corporate email. The AI will handle support from these channels with catalog and customer context.
- Define the topics the AI can resolve on its own: availability, price, size, shipping, returns, order status. Upload 10-20 examples of how your team replies so it learns the tone.
- Turn on abandoned cart recovery: if X hours pass without completing the purchase, the AI sends a message with the product and a direct link to finish. Configurable by cart value.
- Turn on assisted restocking: the AI shows the SKUs that will stock out in N days based on turnover + lead time. The owner approves the purchase order with one tap.
- Turn on post-purchase cross-sell: after a completed order, the AI suggests related products to the customer with a discount for an immediate purchase.
- Set up segmented campaigns: customers inactive for 60 days with a comeback voucher, top 10 customers with a launch preview, customers who viewed a SKU without buying with a personalized discount.
- Measure: average order value, overall conversion, cart recovery, repeat rate, ROI by channel. The AI proposes variations monthly.
